Celebrating Moms

I am lucky.  I was raised by a very loving, caring mom.  Carolyn Steed was a stay-at-home mom who did all she could to raise my sister and I to be strong, independent women.  I’d say she did a good job at that.  I try to show and tell her on a regular basis how much she means to me.  Today I’m a little sad because it’s actually the first time I’ve been apart from my mom on Mother’s Day.  This year, she’ll be celebrating the day at the beach.  And, as a mom myself, I think she has the right idea.

Personally, I have many things in my life that I like to do.  I like to write, speak in public, network and plan events, and I love my work.  But, the best role I have is that of being a Mommy to my sweet twins.  They are the light in my life.  I’m not big on celebrating me, so I take this day to thank my kiddos, because Jack and LiLi were the ones who gave me the best job in the world.  Motherhood.

I love you my sweet babies.  Thank you for a glorious Mother’s Day.  Happy Mom’s Day to mother’s everywhere!
