The Great HR Blog Exchange

Do you ever have moments where you look back on something you did that seemed little at the time but made a big impact in your life?  One of those non-events that changed things profoundly or brought new insight and inspiration into your life?  Looking back now, I had one of those moments recently.

What did I do, you ask?  What was the monumental non-event?

Twitter.

Sound crazy?  Well, I signed up for a Twitter account one year ago and then did not touch it.  I didn’t understand exactly what I was supposed to do with it.  Then, two months ago, I decided to just give it a try.  It has opened up a whole new world for me.  It has been a platform where I have met some of the most talented, smart HR professionals in this country (and beyond).  They inspire me and fuel my passion for HR.The other night was a prime example.

I was “tweeting” with some HR pros and Steve Boese (@sbjet) threw out a great idea.  He suggested we have a blog exchange (#blogexchange on Twitter).  This would involve participants guest blogging on another blog.  The real challenge is going to be bringing our “A” game while writing in a blog style that may be quite different from our own.  Steve was asked to set up the pairings and now we are ready to go.

I am fortunate to have been paired with Lois Melbourne, the CEO of Aquire, Inc.  I am excited to have the opportunity to work with her on this blog exchange.  There are other pairings you should also check out:

HR Thoughts - Talent for the 21st Century

HR Maven - Nobscot’s Weblog

Steve’s Tech Blog - Fusion Frames

So, come back soon to welcome Lois and see what she addes to the HR Ringleader’s blog!
